Sauber Motorsport, which manages and operates the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN entry in the Formula One world championship, announced that it has extended its partnership with Acer into the forthcoming 2021 F1 season.

Acer and Sauber entered into a partnership in 2020. The Taiwan-based company will proveid the team with state-of-the-art technonolgy to power and connect the team, both trackside and at Sauber’s Hinwil HQ, while also unveiling an ambitious marketing activation featuring the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN.

The Acer specifically engineered hardware will play a race-critical role from the team’s HQ in Hinwil to the team garage and pit wall throughout the 2021 season. The announcement stated that the two companies address the same demographic of fans between 13-44.

Hajo Blingen, Vice President Marketing, Acer Europe SA said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership in 2021 with one of the most prestigious teams in Formula One history, featuring iconic drivers. At Acer we not only push the boundaries of what is possible in technology, but also in digital marketing by bringing even more engaging content and stories to our fan community.”

Commenting on the announcement, Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN and CEO Sauber Motorsport AG said: It’s an absolute pleasure to extend our relationship with Acer.

„Our work together in 2020 highlighted the synergies between the world of high-end information technology and motorsport – both are highly competitive environments in which the pursuit of performance is the constant objective and in which every day opens new possibilities of development. Working together in 2021 is a natural result of this and we are looking forward to sharing a successful season together.”

The team has also confirmed that it would team up with Livinguard for a safe return of the racing season. The hygiene technology leader will supply the race team, engineers, and ground staff with state-of-the-art health and safety solutions ahead of the 2021 season.

It has been scientifically proven that the distinctive Livinguard masks destroy more than 99.9% of SARS-CoV-2 viruses. This is the result of the unique technology that applies positive charge at the molecular level to textile surfaces. Livinguard states that „when microbes come into contact with these positive charges, the microbial cell, which is negatively charged, is deactivated, leading to permanent destruction of the microorganism.”

Apart from the masks, the company’s products also include high-tech gloves and other protective gear designed to stop the spread of viruses and bacteria– whatever the conditions.

Commenting on the announcement, Sanjeev Swamy, Livinguard CEO added: “Formula One is one of the harshest environments from a safety point of view, and we are excited to add an unbeatable layer of protection with the world’s first reusable, Covid destroying facemask that is certified as a medical mask type I. These sustainable, three layered masks can be used for 210 days and worn for up to 8 hours per day, thanks to their comfort and high breathability. In addition, Livinguard Technology helps to stop the spread by continuously destroying bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. Livinguard’s got the whole team covered both on and off the track.”

Vasseur said: “Formula One has always been at the forefront of safety, but the last 12 months have emphasised how this concept is relevant to beyond the car. Health and hygiene are the foundations on which we build our racing season in these challenging circumstances, and Livinguard allows us to approach each day, whether trackside or at our HQ, in the confidence we are well protected.

„Furthermore, we can draw many parallels between our company and Livinguard’s impressive products, which are the results of continuous research – not unlike what we do in Formula One.”
